St. Croix County Fair booth a success
From July 20 -23, the St. Croix County Democratic Party was busy at the county fair. There is more that unites us than divides us, so we embraced the theme, “Unity in the Community.”
Unity in the community
No matter what we look like, where we live, or who we love, we share a lot of common values.
The City P-U-tiful
On July 31, 2023, the City of New Richmond notified residents that the application for the rezoning of property by Nature Energy for the purpose of a manure digester had been withdrawn.

We have real hope
On July 5, Governor Evers used the incredible power of the Wisconsin governor’s veto pen to restore funding for public schools (for 400 years!), eliminate a huge tax cut for the wealthy, delete Republican language in the budget that would have eliminated essential positions within the University of Wisconsin system, and many other partial vetoes important to everyday Wisconsin citizens.
Common sense
In a recent letter to the editor, I expressed my disgust with the Republican Party. After every case of mass murder in our schools, they rally around the gun lobby and block the passage of common sense gun safety laws that would help protect our children and grandchildren.
Hidden intentions
Extremist groups excel at establishing brands that hide their real intentions. Here’s what you should know about Moms for Liberty.
It’s the guns
News of mass shootings in our country have become everyday events. Even after case after case of mass murder at our schools, the Republican Party rallies around the gun lobby and blocks the passage of common sense gun safety laws to protect our children and grandchildren.

Allow governments to operate freely
Throughout most of Wisconsin’s history, residents have depended on counties, cities, villages and towns to deliver important services. We trusted locally elected representatives to make good decisions on our behalf.
Women, beware Justice candidate Dan Kelly
Supreme Court Justice candidate Kelly has been clear that women’s reproductive health care should be controlled by politicians rather than by women with the advice of their doctors. Chris Walloch, executive director of A Better Wisconsin Together, has said “Dan Kelly has a long documented history of extremism on abortion.”
What an extraordinary month it’s been!
I’m sure you all know by now that Judge Janet Protasiewicz came out on top of the February 21 primary for the Supreme Court, exceeding almost every expectation. Right here in St.Croix County, the combined votes for the two progressive candidates won almost 51% of the vote compared to the conservative candidates with 49%. That’s the first time St. Croix County has gone blue since the 1990s.
One vote at a time
How do we win elections? We do it one vote at a time! Not everyone pays attention to politics like some of us, especially in non-presidential elections like the Supreme Court race just ahead with a primary on February 21 followed by the general election on April 4.
