Wisconsin Doesn’t Need a Follower

U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Minocqua) has voted to support Donald Trump 100% of the time, celebrating all of Trump’s dangerous and illegal activities. He voted 100 percent in favor of Trump’s tariffs, which the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional, and which are bankrupting Wisconsin farmers and increasing costs for Americans by $1,700 per year. Tiffany called tariffs “a really good thing,” and allowed Trump to unilaterally impose a national sales tax, and the largest tax increase in America’s history.
He voted 100 percent in favor of Trump’s illegal use of federal agents to cause chaos, economic damage, and disruption in Minneapolis and other cities. Those agents are now in Baldwin, River Falls, Hudson, New Richmond, and other communities rounding up hard-working people who are assets to those communities. Businesses are closing, adults are hiding, and children fear going to school. Tiffany’s unquestioned support of Trump and his policies helped make these things happen.
He voted 100% in favor of giving Trump powers that Article I of the Constitution clearly intended for Congress. Tiffany permitted Trump to stall, redirect, or freeze funds already authorized by Congress. Giving Trump the power to seize congressional budget authority is another step towards an authoritarian state.
Tiffany also voted for a 45 billion dollar cut to Medicare, which conveniently will take effect after the 2026 elections. These cuts will be devastating to seniors, clinics, and hospitals throughout Western Wisconsin. Seniors may need to choose between food or medicine. Clinics and hospitals in the region may close their doors.
The Constitution deliberately established shared power over the military to prevent tyranny and ensure deliberate decision-making. Congress, the people’s House, holds the power to declare war. Tiffany voted to give that power to Donald Trump, paving the way for a destructive, expensive war that seems to have no plan or any limits.
Tom Tiffany is first, last, and always a Republican party loyalist. Nothing ever will change that. Wisconsin needs an intelligent, flexible Governor who supports our state 100%, not someone who caters to the whims and damaging policies of Donald Trump.
