Why I am Voting for Chris Armstrong

Voters in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District will elect a new representative in November. Chris Armstrong would provide fresh leadership. He understands the challenges facing Wisconsin and our nation and will fight for responsible policies that help everyone.
Armstrong, along with most Americans, believes the Iran war needs to end. Eighteen Americans have died and at least five hundred have been wounded in a war that has cost America $37 billion. So far. President Donald Trump’s war has contributed to high gas prices and economic uncertainty as it threatens longterm stability in the region. It must end.
Armstrong knows that 90% of the Trump tariffs are paid by American businesses and families and have cost farmers and other businesses foreign markets. Each American family pays an additional $2,400 for goods and services thanks to tariffs, according to a 2025 analysis from Yale University.
Armstrong knows that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a failed agency, which employs lawless tactics and shows contempt for due process and human dignity. It hires people with violent pasts and deploys them with inadequate training. Frequent shootings and daily assaults of law-abiding people are tragic, but predictable. ICE has an enormous budget, yet has been unwilling to provide body cameras. The entire agency should be shut down until reforms are made.
Armstrong believes in expanding health care access and that paid family leave and affordable child care should not be considered perks. They are part of an infrastructure that allows families to function. If we claim to support families in this district, we should fund programs that make family life possible.
Western Wisconsin must protect the quality of our water, air and land. We won’t sell out future generations to allow investors to extract everything that they can and leave.
Chris Armstrong understands and embraces our state motto of “Forward,” which was adopted in 1851 to reflect Wisconsin’s continuous commitment to progress, innovation and our long history of reform-minded politics. He will listen to residents while providing leadership that will move Wisconsin forward. Please vote for Chris Armstrong in the Aug. 11 Democratic primary.
