This letter to the editor, by Pam Fricke, appeared in the Hudson Star Observer on March 27, 2025.
Heather Amos has excellent qualifications to be a St. Croix County Circuit Court Judge.
She has a 22-year record of accomplished public service to St. Croix County, where she has served as Corporation Counsel for the past three years. Previously, she served St. Croix County as Assistant Corporation Counsel, and she worked for St. Croix County as a Legal Assistant while completing her law school education. She is experienced with a wide variety of the legal matters our St. Croix County judges handle, including family law, guardianships, involuntary commitments, child abuse and neglect, zoning, and contract law. She has represented St. Croix County in thousands of cases in Circuit Courts, administrative proceedings, or appeals. Throughout her career, she has worked well with court staff, attorneys, judges, law enforcement, mental health providers, county departments, and our local and state governments.
Heather Amos will work hard to deliver justice as a Judge for our St. Croix County Circuit Court. She will uphold the law as written in our constitution and statutes and as interpreted by rulings of higher courts. She will be impartial and fair in her analysis and application of the law to the facts of the cases she decides, and her decisions will be of long-term benefit to our St. Croix County people and communities. She understands us, since she has lived and worked in St. Croix County for most of her life. And as the first woman to serve as a Judge for St. Croix County Circuit Court, she will add a needed perspective.
